Welcome to Marilyn's Gallery!
The day that our founder Bec Evans found the sculpture of Marilyn Monroe in a shop, she knew she had finally found her muse, and immediately set about making it her inspiration and mission. Since then, Bec has spent many months producing hundreds of pieces of modern photo art, based on Marilyn’s sculpture.
Our desire here at the gallery is to bring this beautiful and arresting imagery to Marilyn’s admirers and other local art enthusiasts.
It's not just about art though.
Marilyn's Gallery is located within the beautiful gardens of Squab Hall Farm, near Leamington Spa in Warwickshire.
Bec is a huge advocate for combining the beauty of art with the beauty of nature, and she often gives talks about how her artwork is inspired and complemented by the local gardens in Squab Hall Farm, as well as the surrounding English countryside.
Last year we are proud to have raised over £2,000 for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity, through various open days and gallery tours, and our goal is to beat this figure this year.
"My name is Bec and I’m a grandma living her dream. Yes, it does happen!
I was born to create, and my photographic portraits of Marilyn are pure inspiration. No digital enhancement, just a belief in the unobtainable."
THE SUBJECT CHOOSES ITS ARTIST
"I first met Marilyn four years ago. She was for sale in a shop window. The owner of the shop was emigrating to Australia and Marilyn was looking for somewhere to live. We agreed a price and the bust was carried out to the waiting car. I shall never forget the looks on people’s faces as we sped by, nor the look on my husband’s face when he first caught sight of Marilyn being carried into our farmhouse.
Over time though, this sixties bust worked her charms on him and he on her. It was so funny to watch!"
